Jaimie and Kim decided to open Cypress Health and Wellness because they believe that each and every patient deserves the utmost compassion and care when it comes to navigating their health concerns. Katie was born and raised in New Iberia, Louisiana, and now currently resides with her husband Nick in St. Martinville, Louisiana.

Katie graduated from Westgate High School in 2008. She then attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, graduating in 2013 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Health Promotion and Wellness. After graduating, Katie gained experience and knowledge working in a medically integrated chiropractic clinic.

Along with her many years of experience and knowledge working alongside traditional medical and natural medicine providers, Katie brings her passion for helping patients reach their health goals to Cypress Health and Wellness. In her free time Katie enjoys exercising, playing with her dogs, and spending time with family and friends.
SHANICE WASHINGTON
Medical Assistant
Shanice was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana. She graduated from Northside High School in 2012. She then attended Delta College of Arts & Technology, graduating in 2013 with her certifications in Clinical Medical Assistant and EKG Technician.
Shanice is passionate about the health and well-being of her community. She enjoys using her medical experience to help lead her patients towards meeting their healthcare goals.
Shanice currently resides in Broussard, Louisiana. In her free time, Shanice loves to participate in fun activities with her daughter and spend time with her friends and family.
LARAE

Receptionist
LaRae was born and raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana and obtained her General Education Development Diploma in 2012. She then began working in customer service, mainly in the automotive and financial industries. During her time in the financial sector, LaRae obtained numerous financial certifications. She has many years of customer service experience.
After traveling for several years, she settled down in Milton, Louisiana with her fiancé, Kyle, and his two sons. They also have two bulldogs named Mack & Titan. LaRae is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at Louisiana State University of Alexandria, with a goal to obtain her Master of Science in Counseling. LaRae has always had a passion for helping others and looks forward to assisting all of our patients with their health and wellness journey.
In her free time, LaRae enjoys exploring new places with her family, competing in vintage auto racing, and rooting for her beloved LSU Tigers football team.
Jaimie Melancon is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana, Jaimie graduated from Lafayette High School in 2005. She then attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and graduated Cum Laude with her Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing in 2009. She then worked as a registered nurse (RN) in several local emergency rooms until deciding to return to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette to obtain her masters degree. Jaimie graduated in 2015 from the master’s program, earning her Family Nurse Practitioner degree. She continued working in local emergency departments, gaining substantial experience in acute care in addition to her family medicine knowledge. Jaimie later became the Medical Director at a physical medicine and chiropractic clinic where she learned the benefit of collaborative care management.
Jaimie has completed many continuing education courses, including courses in obesity management, ultrasound guided joint injections, and non-narcotic pain management. Jaimie is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners, the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the American Med Spa Association, and the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M).

Jaimie enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, listening to music, and cheering on the New Orleans Saints. Jaimie and her husband Jesse reside in Lafayette where they raise their daughter.
Kimberly is a board certified family nurse practitioner. Born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana, she graduated from Lafayette High School in 2003 and enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends. She also enjoys traveling, live music, and delicious foods.
Kimberly attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 2008. After working as a registered nurse and travel nurse for several years in various emergency departments and NICU, she returned and graduated with her Master of Science degree in 2015.
Kimberly has experience working in emergency medicine, hospital medicine, geriatric medicine, and urgent care as a nurse practitioner.
With her highly trained background, Kimberly feels she will greatly contribute to her patients’ health and well-being in primary care.
Kimberly is certified for both BOTOX® and injectable dermal fillers by Aesthetic Medical Educators Training (AMET); and has completed many hours of continuing education in primary care medicine with a focus in obesity, diabetic, and hypertensive management as well as bio-identical hormone replacement therapy.
Kimberly is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners, and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
